Computer Tweaking 101
We continue to receive positive and negative feedback regarding the new system. You are talking, and we are listening. We thank you for your comments, your suggestions and your continued patience. We are constantly working on changes to the system to enhance your experience. There has been an increase in staff speed with handling the new system, and we hope you have noticed. We are working on simplifying the prompts within Touch-Tone Teller to expedite these inquiries for you. We are also making changes to the statements including listing the check numbers in sequence on the bottom of the statement. The entire conversion process has been very challenging for everyone and we are looking forward to implementing some of the great new services this system is capable of handling. A sneak peek of the new system’s enhancements that will be coming are:

	Real-Time ATM Processing - ATM transactions (deposits and withdrawals) will be posted immediately, not the next day as it works now.
	S.T.A.R.S - A rewards system designed by the credit union to provide you with perks and benefits based on your relationship with us.
	SELCCU Online - Enhanced user capability and security on SELCCU Online, including single sign-on and Multi-Factor Authentication and automated member enrollment.
	Security - Improved security on member receipts by utilizing account number truncation.
	Automated Loan-Decisioning and Risk-Based Pricing - This will improve loan decision response time when applying for loans.

Cool Rates for a Hot Summer!

This summer’s record-breaking temperatures have prompted us to roll out some cool rates for new and used auto loans!

We’re offering auto loan rates
as low as 3.99% APR* for new vehicles and
as low as 4.99% APR* for used vehicles.

*Annual Percentage Rate. All new loans require application and credit approval. Other rates and terms available. Variable rate of 3.99% APR for 2006 & 2007 new vehicles and 4.99% APR for 2001 and newer used vehicles. Rate locked until 12/31/07. Betty Stock, Manager of Hub and Tellers, Retires in August

It’s time to say farewell to a familiar face that’s been around the credit union over the years. Betty Stock, Manager of Hub and Tellers, will be retiring after more than a decade of service with SELCCU.

Betty joined the credit union in May 1996 as a part-time Loan Officer, and has had a variety of duties including Teller, Teller Supervisor, Hub Supervisor and Loan Officer. In 2003, Betty was promoted to Manager of Hub and Tellers.

Over the years, she has provided an exceptional level of service for all of our members and truly made an impact on our day-to-day activities. We appreciate Betty’s spirit and drive in the credit union movement and her influence on SELCCU - she will be greatly missed. We wish her the best as she begins her new journey into retirement!

Making A Transaction For Someone Else?

As a friendly reminder, if you are making a transaction for another member, you will receive a handwritten receipt instead of the original. This procedure is to protect the owner of the account.

Think You Won The Lottery?

Think Again Before You Deposit That Check!
Fraudsters often use e-mail to contact victims. With the “lottery winner” scam, thieves contact innocent victims and provide instructions to claim a prize.

You’re asked to send a small amount of money to get your prize check or you’re sent a check for an excess amount and asked to return a sum and keep the rest. Either way, the official-looking check you deposit is fake! When it’s returned, you’re responsible for the money withdrawn against the bad check.

Tip:
Wait for deposited checks to clear
before assuming that the money is available.

Are You Traveling This Summer?

If you will be traveling this summer and plan on using your Visa® Check Card, Credit Card, or ATM Card, please call us or stop by our office.

Visa notifies us of any activity out of the ordinary. If we suspect fraud, we will try to contact you to confirm the transaction with you. If we can’t reach you, we may need to block your card. “Out of the ordinary” activity includes transactions outside of the normal geographical region, international transactions, and some Internet transactions.

Please let us know if you will be traveling, and make sure we have an updated cell phone number and or e-mail to contact you immediately.

Scholarship Recipients Announced!

SELCCU is pleased to announce four scholarship recipients for 2007. The recipient of our Warren Wallace Education Major Scholarship was Julianne Sadowski (‘07 graduate of Elyria HS) who will attend Kent State University to major in Math Education.

Other Young Adult Scholarships were awarded to Mallory Milluzzi (’04 graduate of Columbia HS) who is attending Ohio University, majoring in Pre-Law and English/Creative Writing; Matt LaFleur (’07 graduate of Open Door Christian School) who is attending the University of Notre Dame to major in Business/Political Science; and Jenna Horning (‘07 graduate of Firelands HS) who will be attending Toledo University to major in Nursing. Scholarships were awarded in the amount of $1,000 toward higher-education pursuits.
